As a Baggage Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport logistics. Duties
- Load and unload baggage from aircraft, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment to transport luggage and cargo.
- Supervise the baggage handling team, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members and airport staff to coordinate baggage movement.
- Conduct routine inspections of baggage handling equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with their luggage needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times.
Skills
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations related to baggage handling is essential.
- Strong ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
- Proficiency in materials handling techniques and equipment operation, including forklifts.
- Valid commercial driving license is preferred for transporting baggage within airport premises.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills to assist passengers professionally and courteously.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English; proficiency in Haitian Creole is a plus for diverse passenger interactions.
