Overview:
Works directly with M&T Realty Capital Corporation's (M&T RCC) Producers and customers to help identify ideal execution for financing needs. Works with Producers to screen transactions for Multifamily Permanent Mortgage Agency Loans through Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer Programs (Optigo), or other programs (i.e. Life Company or Conduit Loans) that best meet the customer's needs and/or financing objectives. Gathers all necessary information to generate a preliminary loan sizing/quote package that is in conformance with both M&T RCC's risk appetite, as well as respective Agency guidelines. Identifies credit risks for each transaction and obtains approvals for any waivers that may be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide entry level analytical support on a wide variety of assignments including market research, review of property operating statements, cash flow modeling, property valuation, sponsor credit review, and preparation of loan sizing packages that have identified the overall risk assessment of the transaction, as well as providing supportable mitigates to minimize any risk identified
- Assist Senior Members of the team with all aspects of the loan screening process
- Review Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Optigo) guidelines to ensure each transaction is Agency compliant. Keep up-to-date with all changes to Agency Guidelines as they are released; For Life Company support - must follow designated guidelines for programs.
- Interact closely and professionally with Producers on each of their transactions and other team members within our Company. Work directly with Agency Representatives (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac (Optigo), if necessary, to get deal quoted
- Review quotes provided by the Agency's and confirm if there is any impact on deal/deal structure.
- Attend all necessary training opportunities to stay current with new Products offered by each Agency. For Life Company executions - similar responsibilities as noted for Agency, but for the LifeCo platform
Scope of Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 1 year related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year related experience
Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics
Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Argus)
Good interpersonal and collaborative skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented, particularly with numbers
Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and compile/review information in a timely and organized manner
Ability to function independently or with some direction from Manager
Good analytical and risk evaluation skills with demonstrated ability to prepare concise and accurate well-supported analyses for decision making
Ability to work accurately and efficiently and proactively identify issues that may impact a transaction
Ability to problem solve and work with a strong sense of urgency to meet challenging deadlines
