Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Specialist to join our team. Duties
- Manage and process medical billing and coding for patient records.
- Utilize ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to ensure accurate classification of diagnoses and procedures.
- Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle medical collections, including follow-up on outstanding accounts and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information related to patient records and billing issues.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, billing regulations, and coding practices.
- Assist in the implementation of new systems or processes within the medical office to improve efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical billing and coding practices, including knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical terminology.
- Experience with medical office systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients regarding billing inquiries.
- Problem-solving skills to address issues related to medical collections or record discrepancies.
- Familiarity with medical records management practices.
