Recreational Sports is looking for high energy, dynamic, positive, outgoing staff to be a part of our unit and UCSF Fitness and Recreation. The position is part-time at 40% variable with an average working week consisting of 8-16 hours. Access to our wide variety of classes, equipment and facilities is included with employment!
Pay is competitive and increases are based upon years of service.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Certification to instruct in the applicable recreational sports program and/or equivalent experience.
- CPR/AED & First Aid certified
- Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, dynamic flexibility, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills.
- Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills.
- Knowledge and experience related to sports
- Excellent communication & coaching skills verbal and written
- Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check.
- Ability to apply UCSF HR policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience serving in a leadership role
- Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties.
- Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures.
- Experience in coordinating/participating in adult league sports
License/Certification
- Certification to instruct in the applicable recreational sports program and/or equivalent experience.
- CPR/AED & First Aid certified
