- Interviews patients to obtain accurate and complete patient demographic and insurance information in order to complete the admission and registration of all patients
- Communicates with self pay patients about charges and assists patient with payment arrangements
- Collects appropriate forms as required by Medicare, Medicaid insurance companies and or other agencies
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school graduation or equivalent is required.
- Six (6) months experience in a hospital/physician setting, obtaining insurance benefits and pre-certification is preferred
- Prior collection experience is preferred. Billing experience and contract knowledge is preferred.
- One year of experience in a similar occupation and basic medical terminology and ICD 9 coding experience is preferred.
