The Oaks of Clearwater senior living facility is looking for a part-time employee to be our weekend Activities Assistant and must be a CNA. The Activities Assistant will assist with the planning and execution of recreational events. Their duties include coming up with ideas withing budget, creating activity schedules and maintaining records of events held.

This position is responsible for following the direction of the SNF Activity Coordinator, in implementing scheduled activities, while maintaining a fun, positive attitude in a respectful manner to SNF residents. The activities assistant is responsible for properly addressing residents’ mental, physical, and psycho-social needs during the assigned activities. This involves working with both lower and higher functioning residents. The Oaks of Clearwater reserves the right to modify this list of essential and other functions as deemed necessary. Other job duties include:
- Be responsible for the safety of residents under your supervision
- Complete assigned duties in a timely, professional manner
- Attend meetings involving activities and SNF functions when requested
- Understand and follow company policies and procedures
- Report to work for all scheduled shifts and be punctual
- Assist the Activities Coordinator with requested tasks involving SNF residents
- Supervise residents in a manner where their safety and well-being are your highest priority
- Supervise residents on outings in which you may provide guidance and a leadership role to planned activity
- Monitor residents closely with the use of any materials or objects during activities
- Work alongside scheduled entertainers and vendors to offer assistance and guidance for our residents during activity time
- Responsible for decorating the floor
- Responsible for obtaining supplies when needed
- Responsible for maintaining activities closet and that storage areas are kept in a neat, orderly fashion
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and inventory of activity supplies
- Responsible for making sure residents in activities are supervised at all times
Qualifications:
- Active CNA License
- Must have experience working in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or skilled nursing facility
- Creating schedules that detail the activities upcoming
- Attending or leading activities to ensure that events go smoothly
- Soliciting feedback from participants to identify what worked well and what needs improvements
