The Research Engineer II will perform funded research with government (national, state, and local) industry and university organizations. The incumbent will perform computer-related tasks to support modeling, networking, and systems engineering.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform funded research and internet-based research and investigate cybersecurity related projects
• Support modeling, networking, and systems engineering needs of customers
• Support integration of existing cybersecurity solutions into government and industry systems
•Participate in progress/status meetings and contribute to technical report creation, preparation, and dissemination
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, 21+ months of full-time verifiable directly related work experience, or a combination of education and years of directly related experience.
• Knowledge of computer networking
• Experience with programming languages including Python, Java, C++
• Excellent communication skills
• Secret security clearance is required
• US Citizenship is required
• Prior experience or knowledge of cybersecurity, encryption, and networking security is preferred
• Self-motivated, time management, and organizational skills are desired
• The ability to work well in team settings is preferred
• Security+ certification is preferred
