The Hamilton Lab conducts research on adolescent suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors, with a focus on the risk and protective roles of social media use and sleep.
- Supports studies using innovative ambulatory methods (ecological momentary assessment, actigraphy, and smartphone sensing) to investigate social media and sleep disruption in adolescent suicide risk, potentially with both community and clinical populations.
- Engages in every stage of the research process, including initiation and implementation of new research protocols, collecting, managing and analyzing data, as well as assisting with daily laboratory activities and supervising undergraduates.

- A bachelor’s degree in psychology or a closely related field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience.
- Strong writing and verbal skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, leadership, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks; and working both independently as well as with a team.
- Proficiency in word processing and Excel.
- One year of prior research experience is required (including as a volunteer or student), in a psychology lab or other clinical sciences after graduation.
- Experience interfacing with children and adolescents, preferably in clinical settings. Experience with data management, statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS), survey development and implementation (e.g., Qualtrics), and coding. Ideal candidate will also have prior leadership experience with lab management duties for at least a year, which can include experience as a student.
- This position is ideal for someone who wants to pursue graduate studies in clinical psychology, public health, or related fields.
