OPS Consulting is seeking an experienced Research Scientist to work in the following locations:
Baltimore, MD
College Park, MD
Required Experience: The Research Scientist valuates and provides expert advice on the application of scientific principles and concepts. The Research Scientist also maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, staying abreast of the scientific literature and conferences. Additional experience is required in the following areas:
- Designs, develops, and executes scientific studies.
- Executes scientific studies.
- Applies scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products.
- May participate in development of intellectual property.
- Plans laboratory research.
- May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research.
- Provide technical consultation on projects in area of primary expertise.
- Applies scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Level 1: One (1) year of experience or a Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience.
- Level 2: Nine (9) years of experience or a Master's degree plus six (6) years of experience or a Ph.D Degree plus four (4) years’ experience. A current government clearance, background investigation, and/ or polygraph are required.
- Level 3: Twelve (12) years of experience or a Master's degree plus nice (9) years of experience or a Ph.D Degree plus seven (7) years’ experience. A current government clearance, background investigation, and/ or polygraph are required.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
