Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Worker to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Respite Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering temporary relief to primary caregivers. Experience working with special needs.Individuals is preferred but not required.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including medication administration and support with daily living activities.
- Prepare meals and assist with nutrition-related tasks, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Support individual with developmental disabilities through tailored care strategies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Document care provided and any changes in client condition or behavior, communicating effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting privacy, dignity, and individuality in all interactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, hospice care, or nursing is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving that prioritizes the well-being of clients.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed. Exact days and hours will be given at the beginning of each month.
