WE ARE HIRING FOR TWO RETAIL ASSOCIATE POSITIONS! One is 26-32 hours a week (Full-time) and involves supervisory tasks. The second is part-time, primarily weekend shifts and only about 16 hours a week.
Shakespeare Corner Shoppe is a woman-owned small business that prides itself on stocking one of the largest inventories of British groceries. We also take pride in offering excellent customer service & having a wonderfully diverse staff.
Shakespeare Corner Shoppe in San Diego, CA (near Old Town) is looking for two shop assistants to join our team. Customer service skills are required. We can train and teach all the rest. We have been in business for over 22 years and have a bakery attached.
One retail associate would earn $20 an hour and work approximately 16-20 hours per week (40 hours in the month of December). They would be entitled to a shift meal & shoppe discount. Commission opportunity.
The second retail associate would earn $20 an hour to start during training, but eventually would earn up to $21-22 an hour depending on experience. This particular role would involve supervisory skills (not managerial per se because they would do no scheduling, no payroll work, no staff discipline) but they would help run reports on a monthly basis, make sure things are organized and give other staff tasks. This associate would work approximately 26-32 hours per week (40 hours in the month of December and around Easter). They would be entitled to a shift meal & shoppe discount. Commission opportunity.
Earliest shift is 9.30am start and latest shift is 8.30pm close. Must be available to work both weekend days.
Responsibilities
- Till operation
- Cash handling (math skills required).
- Stocking
- Be able to lift 25lbs
- Answer phones.
- Open & lock up.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of British food helpful
- Customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash & keep the till accurate.
