Job Overview
Aloha We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our ukulele team. Our store specializes in providing customers with a holistic ukulele experience, from private lesson, introductory group lessons, as well as access to a wide array of both imported and Hawaiian made ukulele. We are looking for an sales associate with a calm but knowledgable sales presence with a passion for music and ukulele.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Provide knowledgeable answers to customer inquiries regarding the instrument and the different types of ukulele.
- Have a working knowledge of the ukulele and the brands that create them.
- Create sound sample videos for the store website and aid in the teaching of our introductory group lesson.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is displayed attractively.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the store.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Experience
- Ability to play basic ukulele chords.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, specifically English and Japanese, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base.
- Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
