Job Title: Ride Operator
Job Summary: Ride Operators are responsible for safely operating rides they have been trained on in accordance with park policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Report to work 30 minutes before the park opens in the correct uniform, name badge and properly groomed.
- Display a positive, cooperative attitude toward coworkers and guests.
- Only operate rides you have been trained to operate.
- Thoroughly inspect a ride and run a full, unloaded cycle before accepting passengers.
- Follow all height regulations (check heights of all younger guests), age and other special rules.
- Ensure all guests riding the ride have their hand stamp, armband or the correct number of tickets.
- Assist in performing daily pre-opening inspection of your ride.
- Help maintain accurate ride inspection records as instructed.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- Attending high school.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25lbs. consistently.
- Physical exertion such as frequent bending, twisting, stretching, stooping and reaching overhead.
- Standing and walking for long periods on surfaces such as uneven surfaces and hard flooring.
- Varying work hours extending up to twelve (12) hour workdays under some circumstances.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions in a wide range of temperatures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Display a willingness to learn.
- Ability to establish priorities, works independently, and proceeds with objectives without supervision.
- Good communication skills.
Safety:
- Promote and practice safe work practices at all times.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Adhere to company, state and federal safety standards and regulations.
