Job Description:
Seeking Registered Nurses in ICU Unit for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Merced, CA. This opportunity is ideal for adaptable, team-oriented nurses who are confident in high-acuity care and open to floating to medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed.
Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
Location: Merced, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | 13-Week Contract | Night Shift
Start Date: 06/23/2025 (No July Starts)
Shift: 3x12 Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to critically ill patients in a 20-bed ICU
- Manage common ICU diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, GI bleeds, hyperglycemia/DKA, and post-op recovery
- Administer sedation (Versed, Propofol), vasoactive drips (Norepinephrine)
- Interpret telemetry strips (GE monitors)
- Utilize strong IV insertion skills (no IV team)
- Float to Med-Surg/Tele as needed, taking full patient loads (4–5 patients)
- Adhere to ABCDE bundle and best practices for critical care
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: 2 out of 3 major holidays
Unit & Facility Info:
- Charting System: Cerner
- ICU Beds: 20
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2 in ICU, 1:4–5 when floated
- Support: 24/7 RT and Pharmacy, Internal Medicine in-house, Pulmonologists act as Intensivists (not 24/7)
- Charge Nurse: Present on all shifts, non-assigned
- Scrubs: Navy
Requirements:
- CA RN License – Active
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Preferred: CCRN, Critical Care Course
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Strong IV and telemetry interpretation skills required
- Must be willing and able to float

Pay: $70.00 - $78.00 per hour
