Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Nurse plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position involves working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assist in various interventional radiology procedures. Duties
- Assist in interventional radiology procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, assessing vital signs and overall health status.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapy as per physician orders.
- Provide ostomy care, tube feeding management, and catheter care to patients as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, post-operative care, and recovery processes.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a Level I Trauma Center setting to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
Skills
- Proficient in critical care nursing practices with experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient safety measures.
- Ability to perform ostomy care, tube feeding management, catheter care, and dementia care effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Compassionate approach to family planning discussions and support for patients undergoing complex procedures.
- Physical capability to lift patients safely as required during nursing duties.
This role is essential for delivering exceptional care within the interventional radiology department while ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.
