We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment during night shifts. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical patients according to established standards and protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions, record symptoms, and report changes to the healthcare team promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure proper documentation of all nursing care and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Support and mentor junior nursing staff and participate in continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Michigan.
- Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
