Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN Supervisor to join our healthcare team. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring that high standards of care are maintained. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to providing exceptional care to patients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other complex needs.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Facilitate communication among medical staff, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards of practice.
- Provide training and support to nursing staff on best practices in patient care.
- Assist in managing the unit's operations, including staffing schedules and resource allocation.
Experience
- Previous experience in a nursing role is required; experience as a Charge Nurse or in a leadership position is preferred.
- Strong background in patient care, including experience in ICU or senior care settings.
- Familiarity with dementia care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and ophthalmology procedures is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid nursing license is required for this position.
