Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. As an RN, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and providing high-quality nursing care in various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and outpatient clinics. Duties
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to transplant patients
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions and vital signs
- Administer medications, including immunosuppressive therapies
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families about the transplant process and post-operative care
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist during surgeries when necessary
- Perform wound care and manage surgical drains
- Administer blood transfusions and manage other IV therapies
- Recognize and respond to signs of transplant rejection and other complications
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the transplant journey
- Participate in ongoing education and training in transplant nursing and related fields
- Assist in research and data collection for transplant programs
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or urgent care facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) for efficient medical documentation.
- Proficiency in administering injections, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and basic life support techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and laboratory processes.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Critical care experience or exposure to trauma medicine is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
