Job Summary MUST SUPPLY OWN PERSONAL VEHICLE.
The Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of handling various tasks associated with route driving and customer service. The RCA is responsible for delivering mail on time while providing excellent service to customers along their routes.
In addition to regular Monday through Saturday scheduling, Rural Carrier Associates (RCAs) can be scheduled to work Sundays and Holidays.
Rural Carrier Associates (RCAs) must provide their own vehicle large enough to carry parcel volume.
Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic regulations.
- Load and unload mail and packages, ensuring proper handling during transport.
- Utilize manual transmission vehicles as needed for deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered during the route.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of mail items as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the postal service.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with the public.
- Proven ability to drive safely and responsibly under various conditions.
- Experience with pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus for loading and unloading tasks.
- Familiarity with route driving practices to navigate efficiently through rural areas.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse settings is beneficial.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles when necessary.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
