POSITION OVERVIEW: Outlet store Sales Associates are responsible for receiving merchandise, selling merchandise to customers, totaling their orders, accepting payment, and accurately making change for customers. Assist in the store by keeping shelves stocked and balancing the cash drawer at the end of the day. Associates complete a weekly inventory of premium items and conduct a monthly inventory of all items in the store. Associates also work in the Chicago warehouse, where they clean, organize stock, and perform regular inventory checks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take accountability for assigned duties and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Greet customers and assist them with their specific needs and requests. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
- Provide customers with requested merchandise, including any special orders.
- Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
- Adjust prices for sales. Provide the sales total to the customer, including any applicable discounts and taxes, and receive cash or credit payment. Wrap or bag the merchandise as requested by the customer.
- Maintain records related to sales.
- Watch for and recognize security risks, including theft, and know how to prevent and handle these situations.
- Ticket, arrange, and display merchandise to promote sales.
- Stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise, clean shelves, counters, and tables, and general store cleaning, as needed. Assist in regular stocking, organizing, and doing inventory in the Chicago warehouse.
- Assist the supervisor and the assistant supervisor in setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
- Ensure that all business-related items are communicated successfully and professionally to coworkers, either verbally or in writing.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or working towards graduation.
- At least one year of working in a retail environment is required.
- Able to add numbers, calculate discount percentages, and make change.
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Microsoft Excel, Intermediate level - preferred but not required.
