Position Summary:
Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Sales Development Representative to join our team. The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating new qualified pharma and biotech sales opportunities for the Business Development Directors (BDDs) of the Biospecimen Division.
A Day in the Life of a System Administrator at Discovery Life Sciences:
- Work with Product Managers and Designers to conceptualize and implement new features.
- Collaborate with fellow Engineers to architect robust and scalable software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings.
Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in outbound call campaigns or inside sales in biotech/life science industry.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) desired.
- Knowledge of email marketing and lead generation tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint), for effective communication and project coordination.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Creative thinker, results-driven, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound prospecting by using multi-channel strategies via phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, text-messaging, etc.
- Research websites, grants, journals, professional societies, papers/publications/posters, chambers of commerce sites, business incubators, private equity firms, etc. to uncover new business opportunities from cold, new, or inactive accounts.
- Qualify leads and schedule follow-up or introductory meetings with BDDs, work with partners using Salesforce and Excel for data-driven decisions.
- Lead initiatives to expand international markets, aligning with the VP, Biospecimen Sales.
- Support and collaborate with BDDs in their efforts to develop new customers, re-engage cold contacts, and uncover untouched potential customers.
- Qualify new sales opportunities and transfer them to BDDs to close.
- Conduct high volume of outbound prospecting (i.e. 30+ outbound phone calls, and/or 50 targeted emails).
- This role estimates about 10% travel to attend industry events and meet with customers.
Compensation and Benefits:
Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $50,000-$70,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
