Sales Estimator – Asphalt Services
Location: Metro Detroit Area | Part-Time / Flexible Hours | Hybrid Role
Lifewide Asphalt Services is a growing asphalt maintenance company looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Sales Estimator to help us quote, sell, and manage incoming work. This role is for someone with prior knowledge of asphalt maintenance and repairs, along with sales experience and the ability to confidently work with customers from estimate to approval.
This is a part-time, flexible role — ideal for someone looking to stay in the industry and earn strong commissions without being tied to a 9–5.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Visiting residential and commercial job sites
- Evaluating the scope of work (paving, patching, sealcoating, crack fill, repairs,. etc.)
- Taking in-person measurements and using online tools to gather measurements when needed
- Creating basic job takeoffs and color-coded aerial maps to support estimates
- Photographing job sites and documenting site conditions
- Preparing accurate quotes using our pricing tools
- Presenting estimates to customers and answering questions
- Following up to assist customers in making informed decisions
- Coordinating with our team to schedule approved work
- Keeping communication clear and consistent throughout the process
- Using our CRM system to manage leads, track estimate status, follow-ups, and document customer interactions.
This is a hybrid role that involves both remote and field work. You’ll complete much of your estimating and communication from home, but site visits are required. You must have your own computer, internet access, and smartphone to effectively manage quoting, customer communication, and lead tracking.
This position offers a flexible schedule. We generate a steady flow of qualified leads to keep you busy, but also encourage you to build your own pipeline through outreach and networking. Some weeks may be heavier in the field, while others may involve more follow-up and remote estimating depending on lead flow.
Requirements
- Must have prior knowledge of asphalt maintenance and repairs; concrete knowledge is a plus
- 2 years of asphalt sales experience required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Mileage is reimbursed
- Strong communication, follow-up, and time management skills
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for measurements and takeoffs
- Self-motivated and confident working independently
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Must have your own computer, internet, and smartphone
Compensation
- Base Pay: $375 per week
- Commission:
- 8% on residential sales
- 4% on commercial sales
- Bonuses:
- Monthly bonus opportunities based on total collected revenue
- Commission is paid after customer payment is received — typically same week for residential, and within 2–4 weeks for commercial jobs
Strong part-time performers can still earn $1,000+ weekly in peak season with the right mix of volume and close rate.
Schedule
- Part-time with flexible hours
- Monday–Friday availability preferred
- Occasional evenings or weekends (based on customer availability)
- Set your own schedule within your availability while working around clients’ timeframes
Territory
We serve Macomb, Oakland, and surrounding Metro Detroit areas. Mileage is reimbursed.
