We are seeking a sandwich maker and/or bread seller and cashier to work at the Dallas Farmers Market every weekend in the shed. Our canopy tent is covered, but it is outside! Need a reliable, punctual individual to be able to work every Saturday and Sunday (or one of these two days). No experience required, but must have the ability to follow the recipes exactly, maintain a clean environment, and work quickly. This is a fast paced kitchen-type job.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to customer specifications and menu standards.
- Ensure all food handling and safety guidelines are followed during food preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking ingredients and supplies needed for daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and suggesting menu items (if selling bread).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
- Perform basic math calculations for portioning ingredients and managing inventory levels.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and cleanliness.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and order processing.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and sales.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
