Assigned to an IQF or VA line, coordinating readiness and all functionality of the equipment for the proper operation of the line during the production schedule. Assisting Line Leads, coordinating a crew to run various areas of the operation. Understands refrigeration and mechanical principles and follows good GMP's and safety practices. This position acts as alternate to the Shift Supervisor as needed in the Shift Supervisor’s absence.

- Assisting Sanitation Manager throughout the sanitation process of IQF / VA production lines.
- Train Sanitation Operators to follow SSOP’s to properly sanitize the lines.
- Ensure proper titration and use of chemicals.
- Assist the Sanitation Manager in the development and enforcement of the SSOP’s.
- Cover and complete sanitation if necessary.
- Ability to utilize HMI screens to operate automated equipment related to start up and sanitation processes.
- Operate and train on CIP, COP and the 7 steps of sanitation.
- Audit lines for cleanliness after the sanitation process is completed.
- Oversee and assist the IQF lines as well as VA production work centers as needed.
- Works with team on reaching or exceeding company goals.
- Ensures that all employees follow all safety guidelines including- lock out/ tag out, sanitation safety, PPE (personal protective equipment) etc.
- Recommends changes in the process to improve yields, labor, micro etc. (Continuous Improvement Activities).
- Must fill in Hour by Hour report and make adjustments to achieve daily targets.
- Maintain Quality Process records on each product that is processed.
- Verifies shift activity information.
- Assumes supervisory role when required.
- Operate the forklift or pallet jack if needed.
- Responsible for plant safety, G.M.P.s, HACCP, sanitation, and production performance.
- Will be responsible for fill out Paycom and allocating employee time.
- Utilize D365 to run reports to plan upcoming sanitation needs.
Competencies
- Ability to conduct a quality audit and inspect lines after sanitation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to operate and train on CIP, COP and the 7 steps of sanitation.
- Knowledge in HACCP and other food safety programs.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Perform basic math.
- Knowledge in utilizing Microsoft programs.

Supervisory responsibilities
- Will be applying disciplinary action under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor.
- Must ensure compliance and professional standards such as OSHA and customer requirements.
- Review production paperwork for accuracy.
Work environment
While performing the functions of this job, the employee:
- Continuously exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Wet or humid conditions, extreme cold.
- Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and dust airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Travel require
Preferred education and experience
- HS diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- Equipment Operation.
- Two years related experience.
- 4-year degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Trained in sanitation basics PPE's, lock out/tag out, allergen cleaning, chemical safety, MSDS, confined spaces, kosher clean up.
Additional eligibility requirements
- Required experience at SHF as Lead or Assistant Lead with mechanical and potential leadership abilities, or prior Lead experience.
- Read, write, and understand English well enough to provide and follow daily work instructions.
- Must understand and follow all GMP and HACCP procedures.
- Must have the ability to work any day the week.
