Job Summary
Smelting Point is a car disassembly facility dedicated to dismantling vehicles and selling metals for recycling purposes. We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Scale & Transportation Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate weighing, documentation, and communication with various departments. The Scale Operator will collaborate closely with operations, tractors, and other internal teams to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
Duties
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate weighing, documentation, and communication with internal departments and external partners.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with operations, tractors, drivers, and other internal teams to facilitate smooth transportation operations.
- Ensure accurate contract management and pricing for inbound and outbound shipments, collaborating closely with relevant departments.
- Create purchase tickets, maintain shipment records, compile VINs, and accurately enter data into relevant systems.
- Review car buying call tickets, compare inspection findings, manage driver deductions, and reconcile data across entities for consistency and accuracy.
- Calculate transport costs, prepare driver payroll, and monitor fuel card usage to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments across the organization to address discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and support various recycling operations.
- Conduct screening procedures for new hires, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or transportation management is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or recycling operations.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work across multiple locations within the Orlando area.
