The Go Game: Part-Time, “On Call” Game Host
The Go Game (www.thegogame.com) creates innovative, technology-fueled team building games and creative adventures for clients across the globe. We’re a small business based in California looking for a flexible, part-time Game Host to join our team.
When working, you will produce and execute wildly entertaining, high-tech scavenger hunts and game shows on a mission of utmost importance: bringing play to companies of all shapes and sizes. The Game Host is entirely responsible for executing outstanding Go Game events and is accountable for all day-of planning and executing memorable games, including using our software to facilitate gameplay, interacting with clients & actors, delivering instructions and simple troubleshooting, and hosting a live award show and finale. You will be part Julie McCoy, part McGyver and part Stephen Colbert; in other words organized, resourceful and funny.
In this position, you will be part of our “on call” game event staff, trained and ready to run events when we’re at our busiest and need more staff to cover events. Expect to work about 2-5 events a month.
You are:
- Highly flexible; can manage an unpredictable workload and variable event schedule
- Excellent at public speaking and creative writing
- Keenly interested in experience design; able to lead groups in workshops and activities
- Self-directed, a quick learner with a strong work ethic
- Able to problem-solve under pressure
- Highly organized and professional; you dot your i’s and cross your t’s
- A great communicator & collaborator
- Tech-savvy, proficient with computers and social media
- Experienced with A/V equipment
- Able to travel from time to time
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience performing onstage
- A passion for interactive games, corporate culture and team building
Requirements:
- Variable / flexible availability when needed for events, including nights and weekends
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation:
- $400 per event (about 4 hours).
- This is a non-exempt, part-time, hourly position subject to overtime & double time.
