We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to join our dental clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience as a administrative team member and dental healthcare management.
Purpose: To communicate with and schedule patients appropriately according to our treatment type and production guidelines. To provide a positive patient experience, confirm all appointments, collect payments when patient’s present for treatment, manage calls for emergency appointments using our triage guidelines. Duties will focus on assisting with the verification and input of patients’ dental benefits and sending appeals as needed.

Our ideal Scheduling & Insurance Verification Coordinator:
- Follows practice guidelines to maintain an ideal schedule in terms of block scheduling correct procedures and maintaining idea production goals
- Provides a positive patient experience, confirm all appointments, and manages emergency calls using our triage guidelines
- Obtains proper documentation for consent from a legal guardian
- Communicates practice policies with parents
- Has a thorough knowledge of dental PPO insurance and verification and is able to explain the benefits and limitations of a patient’s plan in a professional and courteous manner
- Has experience with open dental and dental xchange or the ability to learn
- Verification and input of patients’ dental benefits
- Communicates patient out of pocket costs appropriately and obtains copayment at check in
- Can accurately review insurance EOBs, ERAs, payments and write offs entered; discusses as needed with our financial coordinator regarding necessary adjustments; can prepare and send accurate patient invoices and statements
- Contacts insurance companies to follow up on outstanding and denied claims
- Assists patient receiving benefits for unpaid claims
- Follows up on pre-treatment authorizations and scheduling of treatment
- Excels in interpersonal and telephone skills
- Assists other administrative team members with overflow and customer service to ensure patient satisfaction
- Learns our new patient protocols, specialty sedation procedure information and the doctor’s background
- Works with all staff to uphold the mission and core values of the office
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
