Schedule: Full-time position, Monday to Friday 8:00a – 4:30p. No on-call or weekend requirements.
Position Summary:
The Scheduling and Registration Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring coordinated patient care by implementing efficient, accurate, and professional scheduling practices. This patient-facing position collaborates closely with our clinical team and patients to gather necessary information and create a coordinated schedule, complete with preparation instructions for each patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and caregivers at Schwarz, engaging in conversations with patients to gather scheduling preferences.
- Explain department/hospital scheduling and registration policies and procedures clearly and comprehensively.
- Schedule future visits according to directives from the clinical team, ensuring alignment with patient needs.
- Register patients accurately for their scheduled or walk-in appointments while providing an exceptional patient experience.
- Communicate appointment details with clarity and compassion, fostering positive patient experiences.
- Provide assistance with welcome desk duties and registration processes as needed.
- Manage incoming calls and Cerner messages to resolve patient needs and offering guidance or redirection to patients and visitors when necessary.
- Flexibility to relocate within the facility to support scheduling or registration functions as operational needs arise.
•At least one year of experience in hospital or physician Revenue Cycle strongly preferred.
• Requires working knowledge of patient registration and financial clearance.

• Requires the ability to work within a team and maintain collaborative relationships.
