QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold United States citizenship or be legally authorized to hold a job in the U.S.
- Submit to a Criminal Background check, including fingerprinting conducted by the Illinois State Police and FBI.
- Possess or secure proper CDL license with school bus and passenger endorsements.
- Attend the required annual refresher course.
- Interact with the public in a pleasant, composed, and cordial manner.
- Communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Prioritize various interruptions while maintaining a professional approach.
- Demonstrate a positive work attitude.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pass an annual Bus Driver Physical.
- Perform physical aspects of the job.

POSITION SUMMARY: Transport students to/from their residence before/after school and transport students to extra-curricular events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transport students to/from Metamora Township High School. Route only is driven when students are scheduled for school.
2. Take all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
3. Maintain records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
4. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules and administrative regulations.
5. Establish and maintain cooperative professional relations with others.
6. Demonstrate respect for students and refrain from such behaviors as swearing, name calling, making fun of students, putting students down, and favoritism.
7. Abstain from smoking, chewing tobacco or snuff, or drinking alcohol while at work.
8. Abstain from coming to work under the influence of illegal drugs or prescription drugs that are not prescribed to you by a medical doctor.
9. Possess a knowledge of the technical skills to complete a pre-trip safety check of a school bus.
10. Maintain discipline in a firm and friendly manner.
11. Maintain a route list that has leave time, approximate arrival time at each stop, and turn-by-turn route directions.

Pay: $39.34 per hour
