About the Position:

To provide organizational, administrative and programmatic support to the academic and production activities of the School of Dance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the School of Dance front office by greeting and assisting visitors, monitoring and responding to communication, and directing prospective and current students to appropriate resources;
  • Receive and reply to general phone and email inquiries and visitor requests, forwarding communication to appropriate individuals and/or resources;
  • Manage deliveries and mail (to include receiving incoming/outgoing mail, packages, etc.);
  • Liaise with facilities personnel and property management to initiate maintenance and related requests including key, signage, and other service requests;
  • Monitor office supply inventory and initiate orders as required;
  • Assist with records management and provide access to library resources;
  • Provide AV assistance for School of Dance conference rooms;
  • Serve as back-stop to the events staff by providing support for events and room reservations;
  • Support the Events Manager with large in-person events at the Fairfax campus; and
  • Other administrative support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Superior communication skills, both spoken and written;
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to respond to tasks with a sense of urgency and to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively;
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and accuracy driven;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, follow direction, and take initiative;
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds;
  • Ability to perform duties with a high level of professionalism, flexibility, integrity, diplomacy, and tact;
  • Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn new programs as needed; and
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
