Job Purpose and Summary:
The Seafood Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Dottie’s Seafood Market to ensure store goals are being met, including driving financial success, and providing direction to all staff members in their assigned duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service by pleasantly greeting and acknowledging every customer, answering inquiries, and all other components of exceptional customer service
- Maintain excellent communication with management and employees
- Conduct inventory inspections to ensure products are always available
- Conducts training and supervision of staff in performing all store operations as needed
- Ensure all food areas and equipment are properly maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition at all time
- Safely sharpen cutting equipment accordingly
- Unloads and verifies product deliveries
- Ability to multi-task (supervise duties being performed by employees to ensure all requirements are met, assisting customers, dealing with customer complaints, assisting with associate duties, ensuring all equipment is maintained while being used, etc.)
- Ensure seafood cases are fully stocked and adequately rotated
- Work closely and stay in constant communication with Marketing & Events Coordinator to organize and plan for rental events, workshops, and special events on the premises
- Observe, enforce, and follow all safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies
- Assist in the development of process and procedure improvements to maximize sales and store profitability
- Assign daily workload and schedule staff members
- Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures, and practices
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

- Ability to adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Some college is advantageous but not required
- 1 or more years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
- Must be able to read and write English legibly
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines beneficial
- Requirement to maintain ServSafe Certification Physical Requirements of the Job
- Must have the ability to lift safely, at one time, a box weighing up 60 lbs. from one to five feet.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb steps/ladders
- Must be able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for up to 8 hours per day within our store
- Must have good hearing and speech to be able to communicate with customers/fellow employees over the telephone and in person
- Must have good vision to accurately read labels and prices
Mental Requirements of the Job
- Must be able to accurately calculate numbers and record numbers/data without transposing information
- Ability to remain calm and in control when dealing with all customers or difficult situations
- The ability to concentrate for up to 8 hours a day
- The person in this position frequently communicates with customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations Work Environment The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, a noisy environment, air conditioning and heat.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
Overtime At times
some overtime will be required for this position.
