Our summer program is built around the creative spirit of Camp Odyssey— a team-based competition that challenges students to solve problems using imagination, collaboration, and innovation. We blend STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) with classic summer camp fun.
Job Summary
Camp Counselors play a vital role in guiding campers (ages 8–14) through hands-on creative challenges, spontaneous problem-solving games, and group activities. You’ll serve as a mentor, motivator, and role model — encouraging creative thinking, cooperation, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a group of 12–15 campers in daily activities, including structured problem-solving sessions and team challenges.
- Facilitate creativity-based exercises modeled on Odyssey of the Mind principles.
- Support camper safety, emotional well-being, and group cohesion.
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and inclusive thinking.
- Help organize and judge mock competitions and final team presentations.
- Maintain a positive, flexible, and supportive environment.
- Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and transitions between sessions.
- Communicate clearly with campers, staff, and parents as needed.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with youth and fostering creativity
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Background in education, theater, arts, science, engineering, or similar (preferred)
- Familiarity with Odyssey of the Mind (as a former participant or coach is a big plus!)
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum age: 18 years old

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
