Nino Development has partnered with a highly reputable, nationally renowned Security, Fire & Life Safety Systems Integrator in the Greater Worcester, MA area. We are looking for a Installation Security Systems Technician (Commercial) to join our team and install CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion systems in commercial properties.
Position Overview:
The Installation Security Technician will be responsible for installing, programming, and commissioning medium to high-complexity electronic security systems in various commercial settings. This position operates with minimal supervision and requires the technician to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects while mentoring junior technicians.
Project Types:
Commercial Properties, Office Buildings, Industrial Buildings, Mixed-Use Properties, Retail, Tenant Improvements, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and program medium to high-complexity security systems based on the project scope.
- Support complex projects alongside Field Support Engineers.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced technicians.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer installation and service issues.
- Interpret and follow device I/O schedules, system drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Mark up as-built documentation, system diagrams, and device schedules.
- Conduct system testing to ensure functionality and compliance with project specifications.
- Train end users on system operation and functionality.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and efficiently.
- Assist Project Managers with IT coordination, commissioning, and final documentation.
- Maintain clean workspaces and manage unused materials.
- Provide regular project updates to Operations or Project Managers.
- Perform on-call duties and light service calls as required.
- Travel to remote job locations and participate in training sessions as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Meet state requirements for alarm licensing and electronics security credentials.
- Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in electronics installation, troubleshooting, and the use of field test equipment (e.g., multimeters, cable testers, fiber kits).
- Familiarity with electronic security system design and implementation.
- Certifications and knowledge of at least three supported manufacturers (e.g., Milestone®, RS2®, Genetec™, Feenics®, Avigilon®) within 1 year.
- Proficiency in office tools such as Bluebeam®, Microsoft Office Suite®, and ConnectWise®.
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
- Capable of leading field crews on mid-sized projects and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
