Job Description
Our growing Dallas office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with ten or more years of experience in the consulting engineering field, who is passionate about their craft and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. Applicants must be well versed in all aspects of electrical systems design and have experience developing construction documents from project conception to completion. The desired individual should be comfortable consulting to architects, owners, and general contractors, and have a desire to work as part of a multidiscipline engineering team. We value self-motivated individuals with an enthusiastic mindset, an interest to work on diverse projects, and attention to detail to deliver quality engineering services.
Qualifications
Requirements Include:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of consulting Electrical Engineering experience.
- Registration as PE (required).
- Must have SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience.
- The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projects.
- Federal project design experience is desired.
- Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, etc.)
- Experience with lighting design is desired, but not required.
- Experience with Telecom, A/V, Cybersecurity, and security designs is desired, but not required.
- Project Management experience (required)
- Must be able to supervise and manage projects of varying sizes.
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical plans and prepare specifications for a variety of building types.
- Contribute to Coffman’s marketing and business initiatives as needed.
- Collaborating on Inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
- Interaction with Clients (Architects, Owners, Contractors) and City officials.
- Mentor a team of electrical engineers.
