Duckstache Hospitality is excited to announce that we are looking for a talented hospitality professional to join our team as a server at Himari. This position is part time, working a flexible schedule, and must be available to work weekends. As a server on our team, you are paid hourly, plus tips, and works alongside servers and sushi chefs in a tip pool.
About Himari
Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee have over 30 years of combined experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi. They established their culinary careers in Houston where they worked together for four years at an award-winning Japanese restaurant. Pham and Lee teamed up to bring new curated dining concepts to Houston’s food scene and kicked off a series of omakase pop-up dinners called Secret Taste. In 2019 Pham and Lee opened Kokoro in the Bravery Chef Hall in Downtown Houston, and following their success opened Handies Douzo, followed by Aiko shortly after. Himari is a chef-driven concept featuring maki, crudo, hot dishes, nigiri and sashimi.
Job Purpose
Servers are responsible for ensuring all guests enjoy their time with us. You will accommodate and guide guests through their experience from start to finish. This includes maintaining the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and performing daily duties to facilitate a smooth flow of service.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities of a server include but are not limited to the following:
- Must learn and be knowledgeable of the food and beverage menus.
- Prepare restaurant for service.
- Accurately take guests orders.
- Provide outstanding table maintenance for guests throughout their meal.
- Confident and professional salesmanship.
- Excellent food and beverage handling and service.
- Execute cocktails from a small bar program.
- Ability to use Point of Service computer system (POS) to enter guests’ food and beverage orders.
- Cash handling of guests checks including credit card payments utilizing a POS system.
- Conducts oneself at the highest level.
- Must adhere to sanitation, safety, and food regulations.
- Must maintain and uphold dress code standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Duckstache Hospitality requires the minimum qualifications to successfully perform the position of server.
Language:
- Fluent speaking, reading, and writing: English.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- TABC Certified
- Texas Food Handlers certificate
- Outstanding guest service skills
- Ability to memorize recipes and beverage lists
- Flexible availability in scheduling
- Capacity to multitask
- Ability to work as part of a team
Working Conditions
The incumbent will be working in a restaurant setting, on the floor with guests, in the kitchen and dish area. Potential hazards include but are not limited to cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to stand/walk for long periods of time. Incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to constantly move around in the restaurant.
