Job Overview
The Service Support Specialist (SSS) is an active member of the Service Team. The SSS delivers direct care services to the individuals through instruction, guidance, and example. The SSS is also responsible for performing routine clerical and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate documentation including but not limited to program documentation, communication logs, incident reports, seizure reports, M.A.R., and behavior documents.
- Documentation (goals, shift notes, MARs and incident reports) need to be completed by the end of the shift.
- Requested corrections of documentation need to be completed prior to the end of the working shift after notification
- Review MARS at least weekly to ensure accuracy and that medications match the MAR.
- Update MAR with changes throughout the month (after Med Manager course).
- Communicate MAR changes to team members.
- Order medications on a timely basis.
- Complete budgeting weekly.
- Accurately record and reconcile financial data for individuals (individual's financial records/accounts/funds are accurate, and receipts and adequate documentation is obtained and organized).
- Safeguard individuals' and household funds by recording all income and expenditures, obtaining all receipts, and recording the necessary information on receipts.
- Complete menu planning weekly.
- Complete activity calendar weekly and monthly.
- Identify and complete necessary paperwork to help individual's needs and desires.
- Assist in completing assessments (Internal and external)
- Assist in completing social histories.
- Assist in completing progress notes.
- Assist with record audits.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes.
- Work with families to enhance quality of care for their family member.
- Provide safe transportation by adhering to transportation policies.
- Address issues that arise in a manner that adheres to Inspiring Lives/PVMI policies, guidelines, practices, and procedures.
- Ensure that all organizational, local, state and federal program guidelines are being met and followed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with individuals, coworkers, stakeholders and others. Investigate incidents involving medication errors and ensure proper follow up and employee reeducation occurs.
Qualifications
- Required: 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with disabilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to meet all organizational, local, state, and federal licensing and training requirements including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, HIPAA, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Reporting.
- Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to obtain a chauffeurs license/endorsement.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Budgeting and money handling experience preferred.
WAGES & DIFFERENTIALS
- Wages start at $17.00/hour!
