Position Summary and Key Objectives:
Responsible for setting up and storage of tooling and associated dies needed in the forging process. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area. Performs job safely with little supervision; self-guided.
Key Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Maintain inventory and set-up of all forging tooling and dies
- Assembling trimmers, die sets, pierce operations & drop through’s.
- Assembling cassettes for 1000 ton, 1600 ton, 2500 ton & 4000 ton presses.
- Operate steam cleaners, cutting torch (acetylene & propane), belt sander, grinder, impact wrenches & basic hand tools.
- Operate fork trucks in order to transport and store forging tooling.
- Inspect and fill out necessary paper work on new, used, and re-worked dies according to blue prints.
- Demonstrate good mathematical ability & attention to detail.
- All other duties required.
Qualification and Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to read micrometers, depth mic’s & height gauges.
- Basic math skills, addition, subtraction, division, conversion of fractions to decimals, & vice versa.
- Basic computer skills, data input & data extraction.
