- Job Title – Assistant Gym Manager, Shredder Midvale
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Manage, oversee, and support all Shredder programs at the Midvale facility, including teaching Yeti, Little Shredders, and Ski and Board School classes. • Assist in supervising all Midvale staff, including full-time and part-time positions. Provide active management, clear direction, ongoing support and coaching, and evaluation of progress toward performance measures to ensure the success of all Shredder programs. • Responsible for Midvale communication with customers via phone when the Gym Manager is not present. Timely responses to all inquiries will be expected. • Collaborate with other Managers and Ownership to share best practices and support program implementation and delivery across program sites. • Ensure program excellence and consistent quality of program implementation for the Midvale location. • Work with staff to ensure all coaches are adequately trained, supported, and prepared with proper expectations for their assigned role. Receive training on the Shredder curriculum, youth development best practices, risk-management guidelines, and program implementation instructions. • Teach the necessary classes and be a role model for other instructors. • Maintain the overall general cleanliness of the Midvale facility.
2. Development and Camp
- Work in conjunction with Ownership and the marketing team to strategize opportunities to increase summer camp awareness and enrollment at the Midvale location. • Oversee and cultivate relationships with youth-serving agencies and schools for student participation. • Collect photographs, stories, and highlights during Shredder program days to engage customers, staff, and partners. • Ensure camps are adequately staffed and managed. • Assist with coordinating and participating in one-off marketing events such as ShredFest.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of experience in program management and implementation
- Experience working with youth
- Experience teaching skiing and/or snowboarding in the last 5 years
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate should be organized, a self-starter, a strong communicator, able to effectively manage varied tasks, and have strength in managing and supporting a diverse group of staff. The candidate should have experience managing projects with many moving parts. They must be willing to take on a variety of tasks—from teaching lessons, training staff, and implementing the mission and core values, to educating staff on the curriculum and supervising a diverse team.
The candidate should have experience seeing projects and programs through to completion and evaluation.
Candidates should have a foundation in the following: • Knowledge of sports-based youth development and youth engagement
- Experience, comfort, and passion in working with youth from underserved backgrounds or communities
- Experience in program management and implementation • Ability to effectively manage seasonal staff, with experience in recruitment and supervision
- Experience working cooperatively with community groups
- Strength in managing multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner that is outcome focused
- Ability to communicate and organize effectively
- Love for skiing and snowboarding.
- Some experience with essential information technology, database management, and program evaluation
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
This position requires traveling to the Midvale location and using the computer, telephone, and electronic mail systems. The position requires the ability to lead meetings and speak in public.

Compensation / Benefits Overview:
- Starting pay for this position will be $20–$30 per hour depending on experience • This position will undergo a semi-annual performance review with your Manager • Based on the semi-annual performance evaluation, merit increases may be applied throughout the season
