Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections

Applications will be accepted through 4:59 PM MST on the posting end date.

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) is currently seeking a full-time Social Worker (Juvenile Service Coordinator)to fill an opening at our Lewiston Facility.

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections has regionalized state services for juveniles committed to its custody, making it possible for most juveniles to remain close enough to their communities so parents and other key community members can take part in the juvenile's treatment. State juvenile correctional centers are located in Lewiston, Nampa, and St. Anthony and provide a full complement of services for youth who range from 10 to 20 years of age.

The ideal candidate that will fill the Social Worker (Juvenile Service Coordinator) position will provide on-going case-management services for juvenile offenders committed to custody of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections and placed in either state or private facilities. Services begin with the juvenile's commitment and continue until release. The JSC provides ongoing case management to juveniles committed to IDJC and placed in either state or private facilities, collaborates with respective facility case managers as well as other members of the treatment team, including family and guardians, the juvenile probation officer and other treatment providers critical to the juvenile's successful return to the community. The JSC is the aftercare case manager for all juveniles in the Department's custody and facilitates and oversees reintegration into the community in concert with community partners, the court, treatment providers and the juvenile's family. The services include identification and development of community-based services for the juveniles and their families. Juvenile Services Coordinators may conduct home visits prior to a juvenile's release from Department custody in an effort to work with families, county probation, and community resources to assess current needs, and collaboratively develop plans to support the juvenile's successful community re-entry.
