Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students, particularly those with diverse needs. This role requires expertise in childhood development and the ability to implement effective strategies for students with autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges. The Teacher will play a crucial role in developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and supporting students in achieving their IEP goals. This role uses Applied Behavior Analysis to inform programing and works closely with OT, SLP, and BCBA.
Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to support students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary to ensure understanding and engagement.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to create effective IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
- Conduct standardized testing and assessments to evaluate student performance and growth.
- Maintain classroom management by establishing clear expectations and fostering a respectful learning environment.
- Provide support for students' emotional and social development through positive reinforcement strategies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and special needs teaching.
Qualifications
- Teacher license required.
- At least a bachelor's degree in Education, ABA, or a related field.
- Experience working with students who have disabilities or special needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavioral health practices preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics while promoting an inclusive atmosphere for all learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching children with varying abilities.
- History with Applied Behavioral Analysis or BCBA highly preferred.

The employee must be able to speak and hear (including whispers in loud environments). The employee must pass certification for verbal and physical crisis intervention training (CALM). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
