The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR), Athletic and Facility Services Division (AFS) is seeking a Sports Recreation Programmer to manage sports offerings for a large and diverse community youth and adult leagues (flag football, indoor soccer, and basketball) with over 8,000+ participants.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as liaison to adult/youth partner sports leagues, external partners, and non-profit sports organizations, including managing youth diamond leagues (baseball and softball);
Overseeing scheduling and registration and performing data entry in various recreation management software (i.e., StackSports and Rectrac);
Working collaboratively with Parks and Natural Resources Division to ensure fields and courts are prepared for use;
Meeting periodically with partner sports organizations to cultivate and uphold existing departmental relationships; and
Performing contract management and administrative support services.
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management/Administration or Recreation Management; and
Considerable experience in community sports league management or recreation program and activities administration.
Substitution: Additional education may be substituted for experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
Desirable: Preference may be given to applicants with a Master's Degree in related field and/or one or more of the following:
Managing programs for a local government;
Experience in sports; and
Using recreation management software such as RecTrac, StackSports, or similar scheduling systems.
