Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position:
Under direct supervision, prepares documents, draft agreements, performs searches, reviews miscellaneous
contracts, assists in preparation of contracts, corporation documents and notices required by law. Performs legal
assignments applicable to areas where facts are well established and/or clearly applicable legal precedents are
present. Carries out the legal processes in the Office of the General Counsel and/or Labor Relations Counsel
necessary to effect the rights, privilege and obligations of the Corporation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares miscellaneous contracts, leases, documents, etc., for all departments and advises Corporate staff
regarding questions of laws and requirements affecting the operation of the Corporation. - Prepares Corporation documents and notices required by law and Corporate by-laws.
- Prepares contracts, leases, purchase contracts of real estate, insurance and service agreements.
- Reviews advertising copy and public statement.
- Performs searches, keeps abreast of legislative and statutory trends and prepares abstracts and reports.
- Prepares materials and data for briefs and documents for litigation.

Prepares correspondence dealing with legal matters affecting legal relationships with suppliers, governmental
agencies, public and all other Corporate communication relationships. -
May assist in conducting pretrial preparations when defending the Corporation in law suits or proceedings
before the courts, quasi-judicial or administrative agencies. -
May assist in the preparation of briefs, answers to employee complaints, proceedings and cases and legal
matters relating to personnel management, labor relations and employment law. -
May perform and assist in processing disciplinary charges for Hearing Examiners and appeals under Section
75 Civil Service Law; legal research and defenses to allegations of violations of Corporate Personnel Rules
and Regulations; drafting of opinions and legal documentations; participation and presentation of
cases/complaints before the Personnel Review Board; and Human Rights Commissions, EEO conferences,
OSHA, arbitration proceedings and other hearings before governmental constituencies administering
employment law, statutory and administrative rules and regulations affecting Personnel Management, and
Employee and Labor Relations.
Minimum Qualifications
A Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited School of Law, and eligible for examinations to the New York State Bar.
