The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Staff Services Manager I who has demonstrated strong analytical skills, supervisory and/ or managerial abilities, and personal qualifications to join the Enforcement Branch.

The incumbent will provide direct supervision to the Local Assistance Unit (LAU) staff and will also develop, maintain, and oversee the operations of this unit related to Local Assistance funding. The incumbent; identifies staff training needs; provides indoctrination and remedial training as needed; handles other administrative matters including personnel issues and Information Technology Systems’ needs
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in a law enforcement environment that includes the presence of firearms
- Must be able to work in a high-rise building
- Frequent sitting is required
- Moderate travel via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.) including overnight travel inside California may be required
HYBRID TELEWORK: This position is eligible for hybrid telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Enforcement Branch and based on CDI’s current telework policy. While CDI supports telework, in-person attendance will be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to work with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
