Are you a passionate plant lover with a knack for leadership? We’re searching for an enthusiastic and driven Store Manager to lead a vibrant retail storefront in the heart of Napa, California. In this role, you’ll take the reins on daily operations, mentor a small but mighty team, and deliver an unforgettable plant-shopping experience. You’ll be responsible for hitting sales targets, keeping the store looking gorgeous, and ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and lead by example on the sales floor
- Build, train, and inspire a high-performing team to smash goals
- Create and implement onboarding and training systems that boost confidence and performance
- Teach selling techniques like plant + pot pairing, bundling, and thoughtful upselling
- Set clear expectations through systems like Trello, checklists, and consistent communication
- Keep the space clean, inviting, and impeccably merchandised
- Handle inventory management, restocking, and ordering
- Manage third-party delivery platforms (like DoorDash) with an eye for product curation and customer delight
- Set weekly/monthly sales goals and coach your team to exceed them
- Lead team meetings, feedback sessions, and performance reviews
- Take ownership of the schedule, with built-in flexibility for weekends off (when your weekend crew is strong)
- Be the go-to decision-maker for shift needs, team dynamics, and day-to-day operations
- Partner closely with leadership to align store vision with strategy
- Balance time between the floor and focused admin days for planning, development, and growth
Qualifications
- Passion for indoor houseplants and plant care knowledge
- Previous retail or customer service experience (management experience a plus!)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a small team
- Positive, bubbly personality and a love for connecting with people
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable making decisions and adapting to shifting priorities
- Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods
- Confident with point-of-sale systems and basic tech tools (Trello, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Eye for visual merchandising and creating beautiful, inviting spaces
- Dependable, self-motivated, and eager to take ownership of the role
- Open to feedback and excited to grow with a dynamic, plant-loving team
