Students working as lab aides may use the basic skills and equipment of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, however cleaning and organizing are the major components of this job. This is a physically active job with support areas on 4 floors of the STEM building - applicant must be very mobile and able to remain active for large stretches of the day (often while moving materials from one floor to another). Both science majors and non-science majors are encouraged to apply. Duties vary greatly depending on the skills and aptitude of the student.
Reliability is the most important attribute. Sprinkle that with a liberal helping of common sense, organizational skills and safety consciousness and you have a perfect recipe for a Lab Aide.
MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE SUMMER 2025 AND/OR FALL 2025 SEMESTER.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.
UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.
