SUMMARY
The Substitute Creative Coach provides East Street Arts artisans of all abilities with a meaningful experience by assisting them with art-based employment opportunities. They assist by supporting the artisans in creating art through training programs, workshops, and community interactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Workshops
- Provide art-based employment opportunities and training to artisans.
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning.
- Evaluate daily performance of individuals served and make pertinent recommendations to the Director of Creative Development.
- Assist with the personal needs of East Street Arts artisans as needed.
- Complete required data entry needed for attendance and billing on a daily basis. Assist in helping and preparing materials and equipment for the artisans.
- Assist as needed with curriculum (i.e., researching projects, gathering supplies, etc.)
- Ensure open communication between Day Services and East Street Arts (i.e., scheduling, transport, absence, etc.)
- Greet customers, answer their questions, help them locate items, and provide information on the services provided as requested.
- Manage transactions with customers using cash register.
- Maintain accurate records and spreadsheet of customer repairs. Follow all Register and Cash-handling procedures.
- Attend expos, craft fairs, demos, workshops, etc. as needed either within scheduled hours or outside scheduled hours as agreed upon with the Director of Creative Development.
- Operate motor vehicles safely and in accordance with State Law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work related duties. May be required to drive own vehicle for work.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience with working with persons with disabilities and/or experience with teaching is preferred. Experience in customer service is preferred. Preferred experience or background in art, design, textile weaving or similar field preferred.

- $18.12/hr. Rate increases to $18.54/hr, after 6 months
