Shickel Corporation is seeking a hardworking and safety-focused Summer Paint Shop Helper to support our paint operations team during the busy summer season. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in an industrial environment and learn valuable skills in surface preparation and materials handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, load, adjust, clean, and properly operate metal preparation equipment, including:
Hoffman blast booth
Glass bead blaster
Safely use hooded supplied air respiratory equipment and all other required PPE
Load and move materials to and from work areas using:
Fork trucks
Hoists and overhead cranes
Clean and prepare surfaces of articles for painting using grit blasting and power washing
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and operational procedures
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a physically demanding and industrial setting
Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
Previous experience with forklifts, cranes, or shop equipment is a plus (training provided if needed)
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.
