The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at Carnegie Mellon University is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to solving complex healthcare challenges. Located within CMU's College of Engineering, the department emphasizes the integration of engineering principles with biomedical sciences to address pressing medical and biological issues. The department is characterized by its focus on creating impactful technologies and therapies that improve patient care and advance biomedical innovation globally.
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Summer Research Intern. This is a part time position to learn basic introductory laboratory techniques and conduct cell culture based experiments. Expectation is 6-9 hr/week under direct supervision. Once basic training is complete, candidate will conduct basic experiments to evaluate therapeutic potential of selected extracellular vesicles in cell culture experiments. Candidate will attend laboratory lab meetings and present their experimental progress as appropriate. At the conclusion of the position the candidate will submit a written report of their experience.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
