MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate’s degree, or vocational/technical certification. Business Administration, Management, Transportation or a related field.
- In lieu of Associate’s degree, a high school diploma or GED and two (2) years on the job training to substitute the minimum education requirement.
Experience
- A minimum of four (4) years’ experience working with a large parking portfolio to include parking equipment and software.
- Supervisory, customer service and revenue/budget experience.
Certification/Licensure
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related fields.
Medical Group:

SUMMARY
The Parking Operations Supervisor is accountable for assisting with the development, management, administration and implementation of all aspects of WMATA parking program on a comprehensive basis including but not limited to the day-to-day parking operations and oversight; parking revenue collection, revenue control and enhancement, equipment planning, facility safety and security coordination, and facility maintenance and coordination. In addition, the individual has defined latitude for independent judgement and action within WMATA’s established guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages the Parking Operations Command Center (POCC) and supervises daily operations of the POCC staff, customer service and the safe, effective, efficient and quality parking operations. Ensures quality customer service, responsible revenue collection, accuracy of parking information and reports, and effective management of parking resources in proportion to parking demand and service call volumes are efficiently and effectively met.
- Recommends staff applicant selection, disciplinary actions, resolution of grievances. Assigning duties, directing and evaluating work, conducting performance appraisals, approving leave requests and timesheet, and ensuring appropriate subordinate training is provided.
- Oversees and monitors parking facility conditions and coordinates maintenance responses. Conducts field inspection of garages, parking lots, signage, bollards, striping and meters. Deploys WMATA and contractor resources as necessary to take corrective actions, conducts outreach to parking customers real- time to resolve problems and develops standard operation procedures and protocols for facility and program operations.
- Responsible for effective and efficient customer-service for Metro's parking customers and communication with other Authority offices and departments on the status and operating condition of the Authority's daily parking facilities.
- Conducts parking lot and garage counts and audits to verify the accuracy of the parking equipment and software, advises and reports any equipment malfunctions and revenue security breaches. Coordinates the maintenance of parking lot equipment with internal WMATA staff and contractors.
- Supports the Program Manager in developing parking services, programs, policies and procedures, to ensure that revenue management and controls are in place, that standard operating procedures are current and understood by staff in the POCC, and that WMATA's parking program is managed in a cohesive and cost-effective manner.
- Supervises and coordinates the operations for WMATA's parking programs, such as, but not limited to special events parking and reserved parking. Plans, implements and oversees revenue collection, staffing, customer service, communication and signage, and clean up for these parking programs.
- Ensures customer and employee safety by investigating customer complaints about safety hazards and deploys appropriate resources to rectify the hazard. Responds to and trains POCC staff on best safety practices, and response technique to ensure staff working conditions are safe.
- Reviews daily reports of parking transactions for variation, consistency and accuracy. Plans, organizes, evaluates and supervises the preparation of records of parking revenue and activity that are routinely generated on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual or other schedule basis, to ensure Authority compliance.
- Interfaces with contractors and ensures contract compliance with WMATA's parking facilities and operations, as well as in accordance with applicable jurisdictional code and principles standards.
