Job Overview

As Supply Chain Manager you are responsible to develop high performing, responsive, and enduring supplier relationships that set Heron Power up for success. In partnership with engineering and operations, you own the supplier selection process, the integrated supply plan for each product, and ensuring Heron’s suppliers hit rate and date.


How You Will Contribute

  • Identify and formalize supplier relationships, with all commercial terms agreed and documented

  • Negotiate piece price and tooling to ensure supplied component costs meet or exceed Heron Power’s should cost expectations without sacrificing quality

  • Manage business risk through scenario assessment of capacity, geopolitics, logistics, and supplier technology / commercial roadmaps. Actively partner with the engineering team to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges

  • Maintain healthy, high performance supplier relationships, managing through dispute resolution and supplier, engineering and plan-driven changes

  • Collaboratively develop the supply plan for every part to achieve factory new program introduction dates

  • Develop and execute the logistics and warehousing strategy associated with and in partnership with factory operations

  • Escalate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with partner teams and collaboratively develop corrective action plans

What You Will Bring

We have a short list of must-have requirements. We prioritize candidates with a strong grip on first principles, hands-on skills, and initiative.


Must-Have Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering or equivalent and demonstrated exceptional ability

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain and/or logistics roles

  • Technical & commercial understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes

  • Sufficient experience with manufacturing, packaging, and logistics to generate bottom-up should cost estimates for some commodities

  • Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills

  • Proficient with technical drawings and specifications, knowledge of manufacturing process control and quality assurance methods

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice-to-Haves

  • Extensive supply chain or manufacturing operations experience with sheet metal fabrication methods (i.e. stamping) and coatings, printed circuit board fab and assembly, power semiconductors, electronic components, injection molded plastics or adhesives

  • Prior supplier development supporting medium voltage (34.5kV) or grid-related power electronics, such as converters, switchgear, circuit breakers, dielectric materials, and bussing

Heron Power provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits. The salary for this role ranges from $125,000 to $200,000 per year.
